Since fall 2025, inflation-adjusted home values have declined annually by about 4% in Texas and 2% nationally. Although nominal home prices remain high post-pandemic, real values adjusted for inflation show smaller gains or losses, with Texas seeing a 24% gap between nominal and real prices. Home equity, while historically high nominally, has reduced real purchasing power and does not stretch further than in 2019.
